Technology

We believe using the latest technological advances can help our patients receive the best dental care possible. Not only that, but our technological offerings can also improve your dental experience, shorten your treatment time, and free you from the anxiety sometimes associated with going to the dentist.

At Lake Five Dentistry, we aim to provide exceptional dental care in a comfortable setting, and technology is part of how we achieve that goal. Below, you will find some of the ways we use technology in our dental office.

Digital X-Rays and Sensors

Digital x-rays are an effective technological tool that uses about 80 percent less radiation than regular x-rays, making them safer for our patients. We can show you the results of your x-rays on a screen, so it’s easier to explain your dental issues and upcoming treatment.

Our digital dental x-rays allow us to see both between and inside your teeth, enabling us to detect tooth decay, gum disease, infection, or bone loss. We use a digital sensor to take the x-rays, so you can expect to be comfortable while we capture the necessary images. Once we’re finished with your treatment, we can store your digital x-rays in case we need them later.

Panoramic X-Rays

If we need to see your entire mouth in one image, we can use panoramic x-rays to provide the necessary information. Panoramic x-rays allow us to see how your upper and lower teeth work together and can be invaluable for identifying impacted teeth, diagnosing tumors or cysts, or planning dental extractions.

Also, for children or patients who may need special accommodations, we can use panoramic x-rays as an alternative treatment option to digital x-rays.

Digital Records

Since everything seems to be done electronically, doesn’t it make sense that your medical history, dental charts, and x-rays are digitally stored in our dental office? Our use of digital records can make your dental visits more efficient and help you receive the treatment you need in a timely manner.

As a courtesy to our patients, we can also easily submit your digital records to an outside specialist or your insurance company.

TV in Treatment Rooms

We strive to provide comfortable dental care for you and your entire family, and we realize that dental visits can cause stress and anxiety. That’s why we offer televisions in our treatment rooms to help you relax and distract you from your dental treatment.

You can enjoy your favorite movie or television show while we work to improve your oral health. Before you know it, your dental visit will be a distant memory.

Intraoral Camera

The technological benefit of an intraoral camera is that it allows you to see what we see. This way, we can discuss your oral health more effectively and create the best treatment plan. The intraoral camera is a small, handheld camera that takes images of the inside of your mouth and displays them on a screen in your treatment room.

Because most people are visual learners, the intraoral camera is invaluable in making you part of the treatment plan process, and your dental images can be digitally stored for future use.

Noise-Canceling Headphones

Sometimes, we use dental tools that make unpleasant sounds, and those sounds can make some patients anxious or uncomfortable. With noise-canceling headphones, those unwanted sounds will never reach your ears.

Our headphones use noise-canceling technology to listen to the sounds of our dental tools and emit the opposite frequency. This causes the soundwaves to collide and cancels out both sounds, ensuring a more pleasant dental experience.
